When Mr.Nelson showed us what we were going to draw I thought that it would be pretty tough because I have always been bad at making my pictures look realistic. Drawing each point of view was not that hard to do. Picking which point of view to work on was even easier. Trying to draw the still-life to scale was the most difficult part for me. I had to erase my picture a lot because I was having so much trouble with the proportions. Finally I had gotten the outline that I wanted and now I had to shade in the different values of the picture. So I decided that the bottle was by far the darkest object in the frame. Then the candles were the second darkest object. The little pot was darker than the big pot, and the big pot was darker than the white sheet. After shading the objects I had to make the pencil marks become solid so I used the drawing stup to blend the shading lines. I had shaded it well, but when I colored in the background it was difficult to determine what each object was because I had blended the ojects into the background. I asked Mr. Nelson what to do and he told me that I need to go back and outline the objects again so I did. After going over the outlines again I believed that I had finished so I brought it up to show Mr. Nelson who then told me to put highlights in my still-life. I was not excited about putting highlights in my drawing because I did not want to mess up the work I had already done. I attempted to add highlights and to my surprise it turned out way better than it would have been without them. After that I was finished with my still-life.
