While I was drawing my leaf was thinking that it would be a simple task. The leaf proved to be too much for my feeble artistic ability. The shading on my leaf was terrible compared to the real leaf shading. Lucky for me in today’s world people will say anything is art. A bunch of squares inside squares is a great work of art. The veins of my leaf looked pretty good, but they did not look much like the actual veins on the leaf. The only part of my leaf that seemed descent was the shape of the leaf. While drawing the leaf I was also thinking about how everyone else in my group was doing. Occasionally I would look over their shoulders to see how their leaves were coming along. The people around me were making wonderful leaves. I soon became discouraged, but I knew that this was for a grade and that it did not matter if mine looked the best. The point was to learn the techniques and to make my own work of art. I completed the task to what I believe to be the best of my ability. Hopefully I can learn from my past mistakes and perform better on my projects o the future. You can’t learn if you don’t make mistakes. That is the way I tend to look at things when I have done something incorrectly. This way of thinking helps me keep going even though I think the task is difficult. I just need to give each assignment my best shot, hope for the best, learn from my mistakes, and go at it again.

While I was drawing the lea I was also making sculpture out my neadable eraser. I did not realize that sculpting was my favorite art form until I experimented with the eraser. I think that my favorite medium to work with is clay because I like to be able to feel the art when I am finished with it.
